William and Kate have shared a series of photos described as “unseen favourites” to mark the end of 2025.
It was a lovely surprise for royal fans.
Instead of releasing a formal message with just one accompanying image, the couple have chosen to look back on the year through twelve different moments, one for each month.
Let’s take a look at each in turn:
January 2025
January’s image sets a reflective tone. The Prince and Princess are pictured lighting candles at a service marking Holocaust Memorial Day and the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau.
February 2025
February’s image shows Kate during a visit to HMP Styal. The Princess is pictured outdoors, chatting with mothers from the prison’s mother and baby unit.
March 2025
March brings us back to tradition, with the Princess arriving for the Irish Guards’ St Patrick’s Day Parade at Wellington Barracks. This behind-the-scenes image is taken from an elevated viewpoint and captures the moment she is greeted by service personnel in ceremonial uniform.
April 2025
April’s photograph is one of the most charming of the set. Taken during a visit to the Isles of Mull and Iona, it shows the Princess peering through makeshift binoculars.
(Side note: I’m pretty sure I’ve seen this image before, so I wouldn’t call it ‘unseen’—but let’s not split hairs.)
May 2025
May returns to remembrance, with Prince William and Prince George pictured speaking with a veteran during an event marking the 80th anniversary of VE Day.
June 2025
June, of course, brings Trooping the Colour. Rather than the familiar balcony scene, the chosen image offers something more informal, capturing William in conversation with King Charles and Princess Anne during the day’s events—another great peek behind the scenes.
July 2025
July’s photo shows Kate on Centre Court at Wimbledon, presenting Italian tennis star Jannik Sinner with the men’s singles trophy.
August 2025
This previously unseen image is from a set released in August 2025 to mark the launch of a new series of animated films through The Royal Foundation’s Centre for Early Childhood.
September 2025
September’s image shows the Prince and Princess walking towards Marine One as US President Donald Trump arrived in Windsor for his second state visit to Britain.
October 2025
October is William’s moment. And what a striking picture! Dressed in full ceremonial regalia, he’s photographed walking through the courtyard at Windsor Castle ahead of an audience with Estonian President Alar Karis, a visual nod to his growing diplomatic role.
November 2025
November lightens the mood again. Ahead of the Earthshot Prize ceremony in Rio de Janeiro, the Prince is pictured playing volleyball on Copacabana beach, an unexpectedly relaxed moment during a busy international visit.
December 2025
The year ends on a warm note in December, with William laughing alongside members of the Welsh Guards at their Christmas dinner at Combermere Barracks.
