The black issa dress worn by Kate on a pre-wedding shopping trip (back in 2011) is still really popular two years on. Just days before becoming “The Duchess of Cambridge”, Kate went on a shopping trip to Warehouse on King’s Rd for honeymoon clothing.
Kate paired the simple black wrap dress with a pair of brown kitten heeled pointy shoes by Salvatore Ferragamo and a matching Prada bowling bag. Here’s a picture to rejig your memory:

Want the black Issa dress for yourself?
The wrap dress is STILL available online in black from Matches.com (as of May 2013.) Click here to view/buy.
The black Issa dress is described as having a tailored silhouette and gathered side detailing, plus a deep V-neckline. This timeless style is sure to suit any shape or size. It’d look fantastic dressed down for a day of shopping (as Kate’s worn it) or dressed up for an upcoming wedding or special function.

Does anyone know how U.K. sizes compare to U.S. sizes?
Kathy, US sizes are 2 down from British sizes. For example a US size 6 is a British size 10. When I was “going away” after my wedding reception a wore a US suit size 4, which is a British size 8.
Now with regard to the Duchess’s black dress – it is a lovely dress and I bought one, which is the same as Catherine’s, (long before I saw Catherine in hers) except my one has three-quarter length sleeves – not short sleeves.
I think the Duchess ought to learn that when she wears a black dress she should wear sheer black or nearly black tights – tan tights just do not suit black dresses and obviously black tights would not go well with her light coloured shoes. I feel it is these little mistakes she makes that causes her critics to criticize her.
This is one of my favourite Kate dresses….perhaps I should start saving up now!
the saying is so overused, but she could wear a paper bag and look fantastic!!! she is really , really fabulous
