Earlier this year, British department store House of Fraser acquired Issa London. The brand relaunched in stores and online earlier this month. Their first collection includes a budget-friendly version of a very famous dress:
Of course, it’s based on the Issa London dress Kate chose for the photocall back in 2011, when she and Prince William announced their engagement to the media.
The dress features a deep crossover v-neckline, long sleeves, a wrap waist and a knee-length skirt with soft pleats.
According to House of Fraser, Issa London’s first rebooted collection drew inspiration from their archive. It looks like they knew the wrap dress would be popular, so chose to include it in the relaunch.
The original dress worn by Kate was crafted from silk jersey. The House of Fraser x Issa London reboot is made from a soft-touch viscose fabric, which explains the dramatic price difference! The original Issa dress retailed for £499 ($642), while the newly released version of the dress costs £99 (around $130 USD). House of Fraser offers international delivery.
The Darcy dress by Issa has been exclusively created for House of Fraser, with the brand`s luxury legacy in mind. Available in a choice of colours, this pleat detail dress features a feminine V-neck and banded waistline to create a flatteringly classic silhouette. Cut from a soft-touch viscose, the draped finish ensures that this wrap front dress will take you from desk to dancefloor with ease, making an elegant statement whatever the occasion.
In addition to navy blue, the Issa Darcy dress also comes in a plum purple colour and a hot pink. (Related: you may recall Kate also wore a purple Issa dress back in 2012 – click to read about that on this page).
