During the 2012 Diamond Jubilee tour, Duchess Kate attended a special tea party in Kuala Lumpur. She wore a stunning ice blue lace dress by Temperley London.
The dress was a bespoke piece, adapted from Temperley London‘s “Aster Flower” dress from the brand’s Autumn/Winter 2012 collection. The Aster Flower dress was available in black and gold/metallic, which suited the season. However, it is quite the contrast to Kate’s beautiful “airy” white and blue summer dress. We believe Duchess Kate opted for the lighter colour palette to make the dress suitable for the heat, occasion and location. A reminder of the original Aster Flower dress:
Temperley London’s Aster Flower dress featured a boat neckline, metallic embroidery, a flared skirt, sheer sleeves and a pure silk lining. The “Ready to Wear” version of the dress retailed at Harrods for £1,550.
Kate fan Natasha from the Facebook page “My Take on Kate Middleton” found a similar dress – it’s the best “RepliKate” I’ve seen for this dress. Take a look below, isn’t it similar?
True Decadence’s skater dress also has a flared skirt, boat neck neckline and 3/4 length sleeves, just like the original Temperley dress. The sheer overlay features appliqué flowers in a light cream colour. A closer look at the floral lace design:
This would be the perfect dress to wear to any special occasion this summer – ideal for weddings, proms and race events.
