Kate leaves Kensington Palace wearing Seraphine print dress:
Last week, Kate was photographed leaving Kensington Palace wearing a lilac print dress from maternity brand Séraphine. My photo provider does not have the pictures in question, so I cannot publish them. Instead you can view them here on the Daily Mail’s website.
Specifically, Kate wore the Blossom Knot Front Lavender Dress, which costs £50.00. There is currently a waiting list for the dress, due to its popularity. One of our Facebook friends who is not pregnant but purchased the dress anyway says that the garment fits well and “does not look like a maternity dress on.”
Claudia Bradby supports EACH and the Baby Cambridge Fundraiser with fantastic giveaway:
Claudia Bradby is a friend to the blog and we’re honoured she is supporting our charity fundraiser. This week, Charlotte from Duchess Kate blog is hosting a giveaway of Claudia’s two latest designs – commemorative pieces of jewellery marking the birth of Prince George.
One lucky person could be in with a chance of winning Claudia’s Acorn Necklace and matching Vintage Charm Bracelet.
Find out more about both pieces and learn how to enter the giveaway on Charlotte’s blog here.
Keep your eyes peeled for another Baby Cambridge Fundraiser activity starting tomorrow too. It’s going to be REALLY popular with our readers. All I’m going say is it’ll be a very special footwear auction: think amazing boots with a crazy low starting price – the winner could seriously end up snagging a bargain!
What Kate Wore fans filmed for Kate documentary:
Those in the UK flicking around the channels the other night might have noticed our friend Susan from What Kate Wore and three fellow Kate fans on a documentary about how Kate and the new Prince are likely to affect the economy – namely as fans rush out to buy everything the Duchess is seen wearing!
Susan and all three ladies represented the community wonderfully, and I really enjoyed watching the documentary. My favourite part was seeing inside Susan’s office, where all the magic happens!
Sadly, the documentary is not currently available on YouTube. Those inside the UK can watch on ITVplayer here.
Issa Collaborates with Banana Republic:
Issa is set to release a very similar, affordable copy of their world famous silk wrap dress, worn by Kate for her engagement announcement. The company have teamed up with Banana Republic to create a capsule collection of dresses priced between £25 and 100 to be launched online and in store on 8th August 2013.
Here’s a look at a couple of the styles:
There’s a video advert too, starring Jessica Hart. I’m sure the British Guards in the advert is a subtle nod to Kate and the royal family!
We’re certain these designs will fly off the shelves in a matter of hours!
REISS launch new AW13 collection:
I’ve also had a chat with my contact at REISS, who are one of our fab Baby Cambridge Fundraiser sponsors. She let me know that the brand’s new Autumn/Winter 2013 collection will hit stores on the 6th August.
A little bit of information about the collection:
“A flexible wardrobe of timeless pieces that you can play with according to your mood. Modern Femininity exudes the Reiss women’s wardrobe bringing the past into the future. Feminine silhouettes are the crux of the season with staple items re-assessed and subtly re-worked, looking at detailing and fabrics. Fabrics include modern parachute cottons, pure silks, fine gage cashmere knits and double faced crepes. The colour focus is Rose, Absinthe, Duck egg blue, Lilacs and Lavenders, Black and Whites.”
I can certainly see Kate wearing a number of pieces from the new collection for upcoming engagements. I am particularly in love with the black lace dress below, in the middle. From the capped sleeves to the neckline – and the fact it’s black lace – it’s perfect for Kate!
Prince George’s Gifts:
Of course, all the heads of states and dignitaries have been sending gifts to the new baby Prince George, as a token of their congratulations. I’ve saved a few weblinks for those interested to find out what the new baby is likely to receive:
- Canada will give a charitable donation in HRH Prince George’s name, plus send Canadian made blanket to new prince
- Did Prince Charles commission India Hicks to create special cufflinks for the new baby’s christening?
- Tasmanian government will present Prince with local-made baby booties
- Australian Northern Territory government has named a crocodile in baby’s honour!
- The Aussie Government has donated a toy bilby to Prince George, as well as a $10,000 grant towards bilby research at Taronga Park Zoo in Sydney.
(some of those links are thanks to Facebook friend “Kate’s Closet.”)
Christening and Family Portrait:
We hope to see William and Kate with baby George at his christening, likely to be held in October this year. This will follow the Queen’s annual holiday at Balmoral and see that Prince Philip is fit enough to attend after his illness earlier this year.
Before then, William’s aides have suggested that a “family portrait” will be released to the public before William returns back to work from his Paternity Leave. William has two weeks away from work, so you can do the maths! It’s likely we’ll see a portrait some time next week.
A Few More Tidbits:
