As I mentioned in yesterday’s post, today I’m going to write about the Poppy Friendship Bracelet, a special piece of jewellery designed by Claudia Bradby to support our Armed Forces. Claudia is from a naval family, so the Royal British Legion is a charity close to her own heart.
Claudia decided to make the pretty bracelet after being inspired by the ever popular charity wristbands people buy to support a range of causes. This is a chic take on those wristbands, featuring freshwater pearls and a bright poppy-red ribbon. Purchasing this beautiful bracelet carries a charitable donation: for every bracelet sold, Claudia donates £5 to the RBL. I should mention at this point that although Claudia sent me this bracelet to review, her company has still made the £5 donation, and further, I have also donated £5 myself to the charity too:
As I mentioned when I wrote my last review of Claudia Bradby jewellery, I often get a offers to review products from PR people and I won’t accept just anything! It’s important to me that everything ties in with Kate of course, and this bracelet does in several ways. Firstly, there’s the connection I wrote about last time: Claudia and her husband Tom are friends with the Middleton family, Kate’s worn her jewellery before and even designed a necklace in collaboration with Claudia a few years ago. Secondly, for us royal watchers and ‘Kate fans’, Remembrance Sunday is now synonymous with an appearance by the Royal Family and seeing Kate and William at Cenotaph for the Remembrance Day Parade. No doubt her presence at the memorial and her wearing of the poppy brings added press coverage and awareness to both the Remembrance Day and the Royal British Legion’s charity campaign. So in all, I was very happy to review the beautiful bracelet.
Sorry the pictures aren’t better – I struggled to take a good one this morning, and each one I did of the bracelet on my wrist looked odd, so I deleted those!
The bracelet comprises of a number of delicate freshwater pearls and a poppy red ribbon, complete with a tiny stirling silver tag stamped with the Claudia Bradby logo. Some of the pearls are separated by tiny silver bands too, which adds to the quality of the bracelet. The bracelet fits over the wrist and you can adjust the tightness with the pearl at the end. Personally, I like to wear mine quite snug!
The pearls on the bracelet are smaller than I expected from looking at the photo above, which is good. Both my boyfriend and I agree the delicate pearls look very classy and dinky! I find the bracelet is very wearable, as it’s something you could pair with a lot of different outfits. From monochrome and casual, to something dressy for the evening.
The bracelet retails at £38.00 and £5 from the sale goes to the Royal British Legion. I like this bracelet because it is a gorgeous, really good quality piece that I’ll wear time and time again, plus it helps a great cause.
